This 1952 home sadly reflected years of renter neglect. And
major street construction piled on even more abuse. We completely freshened
the home's exterior to create a more warm and friendly cottage look, but
without sacrificing the integrity of the 1950s style. The house had a garage
conversion and a now useless driveway which fed off of a busy street. We
removed the driveway entirely and created a more natural decomposed granite
auto-court entrance on the side street. We covered the old driveway entrance
with a new lawn and the city put in curbs, so no one would ever know! New
exterior paint, door and lighting brought the house to life. Organic red
brick pathways and cottage-style landscaping with a mixture of colorful, but
climate-suitable, plants and flowers made the happy transformation complete.
